Holiday Events Happening In The Kirkland Bothell Area
The sights, sounds and smells of the holiday season come alive in the greater Kirkland and Bothell area during the months of November and December. Here are just some of the best traditional events happening this year:
The Bellevue Collection
Performing every night from November 24 – December 24, the streets near The Bellevue Collection will come alive with a street party featuring toy soldier drummers, toe-tapping music, animated snow characters, glittering lights and snow! She show takes place nightly at 7:00 p.m. on the streets of Bellevue Way between NE 8th St and NE 4th St.
This impressive display features over half a million sparkling lights bent and shaped into a variety of shapes including plants, flowers, animals, birds, a cascading waterfall and more. The display is up from November 25-December 31. Admission is just $5 each but there are free event nights as well held on November 27-20 and December 4-7. Hot beverages, snack and a gift shop will be on hand as well. New this year, a variety of musical groups will be performing during several nights at the event too.
December 2nd is a big (holi)day in Redmond as the city celebrates Town Lights in a big way. The three part events begins at the City Hall’s Tree Lighting followed by the Luminary Walk and ending at the Redmond Town Center where music, refreshments and activities for the whole family will be on hand. A Holiday Market will be held at the Senior Center from Noon-6:00 p.m., tree lighting at 5:00 p.m., a fireworks show will be held at 6:00 p.m. Take a stroll down the Luminary Walk and enjoy holiday music, warm beverages, artist demonstrations and more. Finally, finishing up at the Redmond Town Center, you can enjoy the holiday carousel, synthetic ice rink, marvel at the works from an ice sculpture, create something at the Kid’s Craft station and enjoy entertainment from all around the world.
You won’t find a single big name chain store at Country Village which makes this shopping center special and one of a kind. Featuring over 45 locally-owned shops and restaurants in a small town environment, Country Village is a favorite of locals to visit during the holiday season as the shopping center hosts a variety of events including the Gingerbread House Weekend (November 18-19) and the Aromatherapy Workshop and Holiday Gift Making event (November 26). Santa’s reindeer will arrive before he does. The reindeer will be on display beginning on November 11 and Santa will join them nearby at his workshop beginning on November 24th. The Santa Arrival and Tree Lighting take place on December 2, Cookies with Mrs. Claus will take place on December 9 and 10 along with the Pirate X-Mas event and Fun with Frosty will take place on December 16 and 17.
